Deputy Manager

We are seeking a warm, dedicated, and highly professional Deputy Manager to join the leadership team at KidsStop Towcester Cottage Nursery.

 

You will play a pivotal role in maintaining our unique 'second home' ethos, supporting the Nursery Manager in the daily operations while acting as a mentor and role model for our educators.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Nursery Manager in the daily management of the setting, ensuring high-quality childcare and education.

  • Lead and inspire the nursery team through effective role modelling and mentorship.

  • Ensure the nursery environment is safe, nurturing, and promotes child-led learning through free-flow play.

  • Build and maintain strong, collaborative partnerships with parents and carers.

  • Implement and monitor effective safeguarding procedures across the nursery.

  • Manage staff rotas and oversee room planning to ensure optimal ratios and educational outcomes.

  • Champion the use of natural materials and authentic resources that spark curiosity and imagination.

  • Assist in the recruitment, induction, and ongoing professional development of staff.

Essential

  • Minimum Level 3 qualification in Early Years/Childcare or equivalent.

  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in a leadership role (e.g., Room Leader or Deputy Manager).

  • Strong knowledge of the EYFS, Safeguarding, and SEND Code of Practice.

  • Experience in managing staff and conducting appraisals/supervisions.

  • Full, clean DBS check.

Desirable

  • Level 4 or 5 qualification in Early Years or Management.

  • Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) training.

  • Paediatric First Aid certificate.

  • Experience with nursery management software.

  • Interest in 'The Curiosity Approach' or outdoor learning.

Working Hours

8:00 - 18:00 Monday to Friday | 50 weeks per year with a 4-day rolling rota, allowing each member of staff to have a 4 day week periodically 6 times a year to mitigate burn-out.

Salary

£32,319 per annum | £14 per hour. A competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience. We offer a transparent pay structure that rewards dedication and excellence in childcare. Annual pay reviews are conducted to reflect cost of living and performance.

Holiday Entitlement

28 days per holiday year | September to August | To be booked by the end of September.
