In our Towcester Cottage Nursery we aim to provide a high quality, continuous, free flow environment, enriched with opportunities that are interesting, engaging and intriguing, they spark the children’s creativity and in turn encourage natural learning and a better development.

The use of natural and real-life items that inspires, engages and ignites the children’s imaginations and in turn stimulates development and learning.

foundation of development so they can move confidently onto primary school

Families are welcomed into a calm, clean, fresh, neutral, home-from-home environment where it feels like children are going into a second home or to a family member. A place where you feel confident their children will be cared for to the highest level.

Within the nursery cottage, rooms and spaces are used to their full potential, creating cosy, free access crawl-in sleeping areas, calm, quiet, reading areas as well as highly engaging play spaces both indoors and outside.

Towcester Cottage Nursery

KidsStop has a well-structured team of highly qualified members of staff. Making use of these skills we have been able to fine tune the invitations to learning and create continuous provision so enriched that children play, learn and develop without intervention from adults. This practice ensures no delay in development and helps us alongside families create the thinkers and doers of the future.

Play opportunities are created by ‘planning in the moment’, taking the interests of each child in real time and making moments of purposeful learning. This assists us in ensuring that all children meet their full potential and that we help create a solid foundation of development so they can move confidently onto primary school.

Daily Routine

The daily routine is carefully planned to provide a calm, nurturing, and inspiring environment where children can learn through exploration and discovery.

The day begins with a warm welcome, allowing children to settle in at their own pace before engaging in a variety of invitation-to-play experiences designed to spark curiosity and imagination.

Throughout the day, children have opportunities to explore open-ended resources, participate in child-led activities, adult-led activities and enjoy outdoor learning, and develop independence through everyday tasks.

Mealtimes are relaxed social occasions that encourage conversation and self-help skills.

Storytelling, singing, and reflection are woven naturally into the routine, while practitioners observe and respond to children's interests, ensuring that each child's learning journey is meaningful, engaging, and unique

Age Groups

In our cottage we have a dedicated floor for each age group, which have tailored environments suitable for each stage of your child's development.

We also have a dedicated room for sleeping and a separate sensory room which is used by all age groups.

Our Baby & Toddler floor is dedicated to children who are under 2 years-old and has a variety of continuous provisions and resources across a lounge area and a craft-and-dine room.

Our ground floor is dedicated to children ages 2 years-old and above. It also consists of a lounge and craft-and-dine room. The intentional matching of the layout assists with making the transition into Preschool from Baby & Toddlers much easier.

The Preschool floor is linked to an enclosed courtyard which is used for the preschoolers to free-flow into.

Creative Play

At KidsStop we strongly believe in encouraging self-expression and imagination through creative arts, music, and sensory experiences.

We do not believe in templated work where all the children colour in the same template to take home. We believe in providing the children with an array of resources and allowing them to create their own masterpieces in their own way in their own time.

Allowing the children to produce their own creaations has been proven to spark imagination, ideas, harness a sense of identity and supports their confidence to be self expressive.

Outdoor Learning

Our secure garden offers rich opportunities for physical activity and discovering the wonders of nature.

Dedicated raised beds for growing our vegetables 'Grow Me', and smelling the range of flowers our gardening plants 'Smell Me'.

In our garden we also have a bespoke built sand pit and several mud kitchens for making potions and a yummy cup of tea for the practitioners.

We like to enjoy all weathers and understand the importance and benefits of the outside. Activities can be enjoyed in all weathers and when the weather is just right we will have meal times and even a sleep in the garden.
